All members of our staff are dedicated to providing excellent pastoral care, emphasizing the social and emotional support of our students.

Student Care Team

Our Student Care Team is devoted to supporting students’ holistic development through Inclusion, Pastoral Care, and Student Support Services. Emphasising the social and emotional well-being of our students, we collaboratively foster an inclusive, nurturing environment that values each student. Our commitment to inclusion, pastoral care, and student support ensures a well-rounded approach, allowing students to thrive academically and personally.

Angela Blair

As the Whole School Inclusion Lead and SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) at St. Ignatius Catholic School, Ms. Blair plays a pivotal role in ensuring inclusive education. Actively fostering an inclusive learning environment for all students, she collaborates with students, teachers, parents, and external agencies to identify and address barriers to learning, providing support to students who face challenges, including those with Additional Learning Support Needs (ALSN) and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Overseeing, and together with the School Based Support Team, Ms. Blair ensures that students’ needs are met through bespoke assessment, planning, the implementation of strategies, accommodations, and reasonable adjustments, enabling all students to achieve success and reach their full potential.

Dan Pride

As the Student Support Services Lead, Mr. Pride coordinates comprehensive support services for students at St. Ignatius Catholic School. His role involves providing individual and group support, crisis intervention, and referrals to promote student wellbeing. Students see him for a range of academic, social, emotional, and behavioural concerns.

Additionally, he serves as the Designated Safeguarding Lead, responsible for overseeing safeguarding policies and procedures, delivering training, and ensuring the school meets its child protection duties. This includes providing dedicated support to students facing safeguarding issues.

He also administers and interprets psychological assessments to support student wellbeing and academic success.

Early Years, Foundation Stage & Primary

Mrs. Chipchase is our Early Years Phase Lead, having oversight of Nursery and Reception classes.

Mrs. Johnson is responsible for the pastoral care and administration of Years 1, 2 and 3.

Ms. Kerry Moss, oversees Years 4, 5 and 6.

Secondary Care Team

James Conly

As the Secondary Pastoral Lead for the school, it is Mr. Conly’s responsibility to ensure that every child who attends St. Ignatius has the skills and attributes to be ready to learn and develops emotional security. He oversees the Pastoral Leads and Form Tutors.

Each year group has a dedicated Pastoral Leader who oversees student well-being, encourages positive behavior, and promotes our school’s ethos. They play a crucial role in guiding students, using a holistic approach to foster positive habits and community involvement, ensuring students can thrive in a supportive environment.
