The role of the School Governance Committee (SGC) is to provide stewardship and to work in close collaboration with the Principal and Pastor to ensure fidelity to the School’s mission, strategic vision and values.

The School Governance Committee

The main role of the School Governance Committee (SGC)  is to advise on matters relating to the governance of St. Ignatius Catholic School. By doing so, it helps ensure the Catholic identity, academic excellence, operational viability and sustainability of the school.

The role of the SGC is to provide stewardship and to work in close collaboration with the Pastor and Principal to ensure fidelity to the school’s mission, strategic vision and values. The SGC supports the school in the strategic planning for finance, development, and opportunities for consultation and discussion in the areas of expertise such as education, human resources, information technology, law, marketing, and communication.

Appointed by the Pastor, the role of an SGC member is voluntary. Individually and collectively, SGC members are expected to behave in accordance with the SGC Code of Ethics and demonstrate integrity, competence, responsibility, accountability, fairness and transparency in their work.

The following are the members of the SGC:

Gordon Rajamohan

Gordon Rajamohan has been on the SGC for the last 7 years and is currently the Chair of the SGC and the SGC Finance committee. He is a current parent of children attending the school and together with his family, is an active parishioner of St Ignatius Catholic Church. Gordon is a Senior Partner and Head of Audit for KPMG in the Cayman Islands.

Fr. Naveen D’Souza

Fr. Naveen D’Souza is the Pastor of St Ignatius Church, Cayman Islands. He started his mission in the Cayman Islands in 2013 as Associate Pastor at St Ignatius Catholic Church. In 2023 he was appointed as Pastor by the Archbishop of the Detroit Archdiocese.

Simon Testa

Simon Testa is the Principal of St Ignatius Catholic School. He holds qualifications in Education and International Educational Leadership. He has worked in New Zealand, Malta, UAE, China, Malaysia and Pakistan in teaching, school leadership, school evaluation and improvement, and governance. Simon joined St Ignatius Catholic School in August 2022.

Carlos de Serpa Pimentel

Carlos de Serpa Pimentel is Deputy Chair of the SGC and has served on both the SGC and previous governance committees. His children attended St Ignatius Catholic School. Together with his family, he is an active parishioner of St Ignatius Church. Carlos is a Partner of a Cayman Islands law firm. He brings his experience as a lawyer and business owner to the SGC.

Jennifer Allen

Jennifer Allen holds the Educational Advisory portfolio on the SGC. She is a qualified and experienced teacher and educational leader, having worked in the Cayman Islands and Florida.

Wil Pineau

Wil Pineau is the representative of the Parish Pastoral Council on the SGC. He has served on both the SGC and previous governance committees. His children attended St Ignatius Catholic School. Together with his family, he is an active parishioner of St Ignatius Church. Wil is CEO of the Cayman Islands Chamber of Commerce.

Mr. Everton Bell

Mr. Everton Bell has serves as an Information Technology Advisor to the SGC. His children attended St Ignatius Catholic School. Everton has over 25 years of IT experience and has contributed to the school by providing general guidance on its various IT projects.

John-Michael Kirkconnell

John-Michael Kirkconnell is an alumnus and is a current parent at the school. Together with his family, he is an active parishioner of St Ignatius Catholic Church. John-Michael is a Motion Media Designer and lends his experience in marketing and design to St Ignatius Catholic School.

Ryan Carlo Dumaguing

Ryan Carlo Dumaguing is a current parent at the school. Together with his family, he is an active parishioner of St Ignatius Catholic Church. Ryan brings a wealth of local building experience that he puts into use for the upkeep and improvement of the school’s existing facilities and projects.

Denize Solomon

Denize Solomon is the Chair of the St Ignatius Catholic School’s Home School Association (HSA). She has served on both the SGC and previous governance committees. She is a current parent and, together with her family, is an active parishioner of St Ignatius Catholic Church. Denize is an immigration and local licensing consultant.
