Last week, our entire school had a fantastic time celebrating Cayman Cultural Day and Heritage Week, embracing the rich traditions and history of our beautiful home.
In Early Years, the children explored the Cayman Islands’ Coat of Arms, learning the meaning behind its elements and their symbolism. They also discovered the Wild Banana Orchid (our national flower), the Silver Thatch Palm (our national tree), and some native animals, sparking curiosity and excitement. In Reception, the children began exploring the Green Turtle’s lifecycle, adding a new dimension to their learning.
The celebration extended to geography as we examined maps of the Cayman Islands, helping children locate districts and appreciate the unique features of our surroundings.
In Sixth Form, students showcased their culinary skills during our Cayman Food Festival in the Common Room. Dishes like Cayman-style beef, cassava cake, swanky, and pepper jelly highlighted the flavors of our culture, making it a true feast for the senses.
This incredible event was a testament to the collaborative spirit of our teachers, parents, and students. Thank you to everyone who contributed to making this spectacular celebration possible.
